SIGNAL STATION "NU" OPENED IN 1918 AT THE EAST END OF BAY RIDGE YARD.

BY MAY 23, 1928 NU TOWER HAD REPLACED NU CABIN AND
MANUAL BLOCK RULES WERE IN EFFECT BETWEEN FN AND NU.

IN 1927 THE BRANCH HAD BEEN ELECTRIFIED.   THE CABIN WAS REPLACED BY
A BRICK TOWER WITH A 24 LEVER SAXBY & FARMER MECHANICAL MACHINE.

HENRY   WILHELM   VISITED   NU   IN   FEBRUARY   AND   NOVEMBER,   1927   AND   DREW   THIS   MAP.

IN THE DISTANCE CAN BE SEEN THE CLUSTER OF PIPES COMING FROM THE TOWER






IN 1932 THE SWITCHES WERE MADE HAND THROWN AND THE TOWER WAS CLOSED.



IN 1938 THE ABANDONED TOWER STILL STOOD, MUCH VANDALIZED.
