ADVERTISING and SCHEDULE CARD SHOWS MANHATTAN BEACH HOTEL


SERVICE WAS PROVIDED FROM BAY RIDGE VIA THE NEW YORK, BAY RIDGE AND JAMAICA RAILROAD AND THE NEW YORK AND MANHATTAN BEACH RAILWAY.
THE LINE TO GREENPOINT HAD NOT BEEN COMPLETED - THE TERMINAL WAS AT FULTON STREET EAST NEW YORK.

THIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS TAKEN AT LONG ISLAND CITY TERMINAL 1888 - 1890 WITH A KODAK NUMBER ONE CAMERA. THE TRAIN AT THE LEFT IS FOR MANHATTAN BEACH AND HAS TWO WOODRUFF PARLOR CARS AND OPEN BENCH CARS WITH OUTSIDE STEPS AND NO CENTER AISLE. THESE CARS WERE OUTLAWED AFTER THE PARKVILLE TUNNEL WRECK OF 1893.
